Science. |
There is, unfortunately, a lot of science in the mind of the website designer.
There’s a lot of jargon and technology, and made up words like ‘clickthru’, and ‘usability’. Most of which, although obscure, have an important part to play. ‘Usability’, for example, is the science
of ensuring the user's smooth interaction with a website, without the need to puzzle out how it works.
Studies have shown that if website navigation makes us think, we don't like it and will soon go elsewhere.
We value simplicity of design, and we take care to ensure that our website design is as
unfussy and straightforward as possible, to focus on the clients’
objectives and the meaning conveyed through the screen rather than
the whizzy stuff going on behind it. In short - we think of
web design as an art, not a science, even when it involves modern
technology.
